VVP: with Pininfarina and API Torino, a new format to create synergies among local companies
Vehicle Valley Piemonte, together with Pininfarina and API Torino, launched a new operational format in Cambiano: 15 companies from the network met directly with the design brand’s technical experts to develop new industrial collaborations.
Transforming territorial proximity into a real competitive advantage by connecting excellent SMEs with global players
With this goal in mind, Vehicle Valley Piemonte, together with founding members Pininfarina and API Torino, launched a new operational networking format. The initiative, hosted at the Pininfarina headquarters in Cambiano, featured 15 companies from the VVP ecosystem, selected to directly meet Pininfarina’s technical points of contact .
A New Model of “Industrial Speed Date”
Far from classic institutional conferences, the morning was structured around concrete working tables. Participating companies had the opportunity to present their skills and technical offers, evaluating paths for industrial collaboration directly with decision-makers .
“Our task is to facilitate these paths, creating the ideal conditions for members to get to know each other and identify common grounds for development,” explained Monica Mailander, President of Vehicle Valley Piemonte. “We start today with a selected group of companies, but the goal is to expand the model as the number of associates grows” .
The Importance of the Supply Chain
The event confirmed the strategic role of major brands in driving the local supply chain. Marco Busi, Senior Vice President Operations & Coachbuilding at Pininfarina, emphasized that “strengthening the collaboration network at a regional level must transform from a simple opportunity into a real mission” to consolidate Piedmont’s positioning in global competitive contexts .
Antonio Casano, President of Unionmeccanica API Torino, also reiterated the value of the region’s widespread technological heritage: “Renouncing the wealth of knowledge held by local companies would be a fatal error. The joint work made possible by Vehicle Valley Piemonte is precious and can constitute a model for other sectors as well” .
Networking Between History and Innovation
In addition to the technical tables, the day offered ample space for informal networking, culminating in an exclusive visit to the Pininfarina Collection . This symbolic moment united the tradition of automotive design with the challenges of future innovation, reinforcing the sense of belonging to a unique ecosystem.
This appointment marks the first step of a strategy that sees the Association acting increasingly as an “accelerator” for the competitiveness of the Piedmontese automotive district.
